You are good till the end of your original H1 regardless of the outcome of the extension... the catch is, you have to maintain H1 status.. meaning get paid, no benching etc.,

I am changing my job on H1B. I have I-140 approved with present company. What documents do I need to have to keep my old priority date? I have copy of I-140 approval notice. Do I need to have copy of labor certification as well?

IF at the time of applying for the H-1B, you were on a valid H4 status and H4's validity was beyond October 1, 2010 then you should have have been granted an H-1B change of status with a valid I-94. In case your H4 was not valid or you requested a consular notification, then you need to go to your home country and get visa stamp from the consulate and come back to the U.S.

I had 3 of my co-workers in IV and they are no longer here. What ever i did before for IV is with the help of the university students and most of them i know left after their graduation or ready to leave in the next few months.
As always there are other members who are in IV and they do not want to participate in the IV activities. All they want is to get the information from IV forums.

I have two I -140's approved with one PD from end of 2005 and other end of 2006 both on EB2. I 485 is based based on 2nd one in 2006. So question is can I port 2005 pd to I 485 based on 2006?
Some where I heard that you can only port the PD when your 2nd is application stage and is pending. but here it is applied and already approved. Is it a good case for Porting PD or interfiling?
And by the way what is the difference between porting and interfiling?
