Not a surprise, even amazon charges a small fee for a decent amount of storage.
Yes, but it'll probably be the other way round here a - large fee for a poor amount of storage/quality of features.

Here's a rumor I heard from next doors westie who knows a yorkie owned by an engineer at Apple. He said that incremental updates will happen to all Mac lines this year starting with the MBP.
Next year will see a major refresh of the Mac line probably starting with the MBP again for the Ivy Bridge release. Apple will have Ivy Bridge one month before PC OEM manufacturers get them. We will be blessed with USB3 and triple channel memory in desktop products.

The processor upgrades, not the OS upgrades.
I know. The 15" MBP was bumped in May after the MB/MBP 17" came out.

"appleguy213? I think I'm a Muppet." "I know how you feel." said appleguy321 as he looked around the futuristicly white room they where in. Curiously enough, there was also an orange Muppet with a childlike grin on its face. Then with a pop noise, chrmjenkins changed back to a human. While appleguy123 stayed a Muppet.
Then a door made an noise, that just so happened to sound like a woman in mid orgasm, and opened. In walked a robot with a small head and holding a banana. "Come on, to the bridge with you two." said jav6454. chrmjenkins and appleguy321 followed him, through the moaning doors and up a stair case to the bridge.
nies and lbro where pushing three buttons over and over again in an attempt to look like they where doing something, so that the intruders thought they where important. In walked jav6454 and the intruders. "Welcome to the ship of tomorrow!" announced lbor with enthusiasm that rivaled a fangirl seeing Justine Beaver.
appleguy312 upon seeing nies, squealed with a hatred so intense that his Muppeteer nearly blacked out. nies, not happy about seeing the creeper from the market on his ship, turned to leave. appleguy123, still wanting to be with him, grabbed jav6454's banana, ate it, and trough the peel in front of the overly pompous nies. Who consequently tripped and fell, cracking his head upon the control panel and turned into a trans-dimensional mouse.

The day that I have to go out and buy virus protection for OS X is the day I consider going back to Windows.
Switching to Windows because you have to use antivirus software on your Mac would just be like jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire.
During the 15 years or so that Macs were around before the advent of OS X, most Mac users had antivirus software running on their computers. It was necessary, it was no big deal, and it was certainly no reason to start using a Windows box.

What's so great about the rating arrows is you can tell who's got the balls to share honestly, versus the suck ups with high positive ratings for being perfect yes men.
Nothing ever improves without candid feedback. Yes men breed dysfunction and stagnation. Rock on boys..:)
Not sure which bucket you're putting me in :-)

I'm not sure on the credibility of OP's image. Apple has been all about making products thin and less bulky, but in reality, there is such thing as "too thin"
I own a 4th Gen iPod touch and it has a case with a rubber gasket surrounding the surface. This exact case, in fact: http://bit.ly/eqT0XA
I tried using it w/o the case once and I thought I was going to drop it most of the time, mainly because there isn't a lot of room to hold on. With the rubber around the case, it allows for more grip, while adding thickness to the device.
On the subject of the home button, the home button on my iPod touch sometimes does not respond. I think the home button on the new iPhone should be touch sensitive, but keep the design per OP's image.
I know it may seem like I am comparing apples and oranges, but It's the truth. Sometimes you need thickness on a device so you can hold it.

All I have to say that hasn't been said yet is...
.. not bad for someone whom his detractors stated he was unqualified to be POTUS because of lack of military experience..
Funny that it took a small dagger strike at the heart instead of Bush's running in with guns blazing, shooting first and asking questions later. If someone would have thought of that 8 years ago, this would have been a done deal.
Obama is definitely getting another 4 years out of this.

Nice deflection. You've been on the offensive out of the gate in this game. I don't know what your h*rd-on is for me this game, but apparently I appear a good victim in your eyes. You've played these games a long time, and are a very good player, you know exactly how to tweak things to your advantage and this unusual hardball manner you're playing this game is telling.
Deflection of what? Your act of desperation? Have some dignity and just die, so we can get on with another game. You and nies screwed this one up.

I really don't see them adding the dual core chip to the iPhone or the iPod Touch, maybe an increase in processor speed but I think the more powerful processor is going to be reserved for the iPad now.
I'm sure that you are wrong.

DailyTech reports (http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=3475) that a filing with the Federal Communications Commission reveals that Apple has developed a Bluetooth (wireless) version of its Mighty Mouse (http://www.apple.com/mightymouse/), otherwise identical to the current model and its touch-sensitive cover, Scroll Ball, and force-sensing side buttons.
The new Mighty Mouse uses two standard AA batteries and will be compatible with OS X 10.4.6 and later. No release date is set for the new Bluetooth Mighty Mouse -- currently codenamed M6, but judging from the FCC filing, the new mouse should arrive soon.
MacRumors recently received word that Apple repair technicians and phone support had been briefed on how to deal with the new hardware, indicating a release may be imminent. The Mighty Mouse was introduced (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2005/08/20050802094256.shtml) in August 2005.
Update: According to a picture of a preliminary product manual obtained by AppleInsider (http://www.appleinsider.com/article.php?id=1909), the new wireless Mighty Mouse will use Laser tracking in place of the Optical tracking system the current USB Mighty Mouse uses. Laser-based mice typically are more accurate and less prone to errors on extremely smooth surfaces.

Anyone considered how this (technically) will work? How will the iPod detect where your hands are?
This seems to be a refinement of what the iPod and touch pads have been doing all along. Right now those can detect your finger through an insulated plastic layer, and even through clothes on top of that.
The main difference here would seem to be in smarter software that can do something useful with smaller changes in the electrical fields.

There is no incentive to go to a Zune. Same DRM, same features. The people who hate the iPod and buy Creative aren't switching to Zune. They don't want to be locked into DRM. So unless microsoft really does something innovative it is just another player in a sea of non-iPods.
EDIT: I mean same DRM in the sense that the download are locked by DRM, not exactly the same type.
That's the funny thing, though. You're not locked into DRM with the iPod. You don't need an iTMS to use your iPod, just iTunes. It plays standard MP3 files and non-DRM'ed AAC files.

So you think, Google's Chrome OS invented or made all these things possible?
Were there no browsers before?
Where did I claim any of those things ?
*sigh*, at this point, I'll just ignore your comments, do the same for mine.

Wouldn't matter anyway if you were using a ThunderBolt external hard drive. Very few mechanical hard drives can even reach 1Gbps-2Gbps. You'll need several of the fastest SSDs in RAID to even reach ThunderBolt speeds.
USB 3.0 FTW. More practical.

But you're dealing with Apple customers, they sacrifice themselves for the good of the company.
Yes, Apple tricks everyone into loving them. That's what is happening; it couldn't be their focus on creating products that people love. Nope.

At 10:30 this morning Bristol had a few white Verizon pads and a few black 16GB WiFi pads. Neither was what I was looking for. I went to MV, Spectrum, Fashion Isalnd, called Brea and Cerritos - all sold out. I am going back to Bristol for opening time tomorrow.
--Sean
Bristol Apple store? Ill be going to Best Buy (Tustin / the District / Costa Mesa, either of those) to reserve an iPad tomorrow. If they happen to have one, ill get a black 16gb WiFi. Ill probably call each store before I go though. Either way, Ill have one by the end of the week it seems.
And if that doesnt work, Ill try the Apple stores (Irvine and Fashion Island and South Coast.)
Then if I am totally empty handed Ill just expand outside of the OC if I have to.
