Well, in perspective it doesn't really mean much -- Apple has sold 33 million iPhones, so that's 1% which were interested in SkyFire / Flash.

I work for a company called Prime Alliance Solutions and our entire company is migrating from Windows machine to macs running Parallels. We are also changing out our windows servers to a to Xserves. Most of the users have never used macs before but overall they have had an excellent experience!!! :) ... Things are changing specially if our Windows Centric Business is willing to go all Mac! I am soo stoked for APPLE!!
I'm holding off until WWDC to decide what route of "Mac conversion" I am going to be using. If Leopard has a built in Parallels type solution (which I believe it will), then I will absolutely begin my church's mac conversion in January.

I just got an email from VMware about beta testing VMware for Mac. Can't seem to download the stuff because their store is having errors. Hopefully once I get to download it, I can give you guys some results.
I'm on a PPC but plan to go MacTel next year when Adobe releases Universal versions of Creative Suite. I have some questions about VMware & Parallels if you don't mind me adding it to the thread:
1. Do they require Windows partitions, and if so how much disk space is needed?
2. If a partition is needed, can you run the partition on an external drive so as to free up space on your internal? (I'll be using a MacBook Pro so that's why I ask).
3. Can anyone tell me anything about syncing a Palm device with Parallels or VMware? In particular I'm wondering how easily (if at all) I could sync my Treo with Windows apps as well as OS X apps. This would be huge to me.

What if :apple: is just buying time with late release of White iPhone 4 and continuing to push forward with iphone 4 production, for them to get the North Carolina facility up and running to start their own carrier and let existing contracts expire? No crack smoked here, just talking out loud.

Why concede? I think we are examining obesity pretty well as a group. Furthermore, the current level of obesity is really everyone's problem, as the level affects our society as a whole.
This lady in question though blows my mind as the article has framed it to appear that her goal is to gain weight. Perhaps the article misinterpreted what she meant.
Because I feel I've made my point. I'm arguing against the stereotypes and prejudices, not the effects on society and healthcare, or mental dysfunction.

I'm kind of surprised that he was still alive.
Apparently he had long term kidney disease... I thought he would have died in a cave years ago and no-one had found his body (we haven't seen him in the media for years).
Props to the US forces.
It's certainly good news... but might not mean very much. Al Qaeda was always more of a movement or 'franchise' than a hierarchical organisation with command and control.
I still think he died a long time ago (like 10 years) and the CIA hid his body to deny martydom and ease the occuapation of Afghanistan and Iraq. I mean, how "convienient" that they "have his body" now.
Like you indicate, it doesn't mean much now, martydom or not. But if I was the CIA, hmmm...maybe it's time to shift focus to Iran in some way rather than "hunt al queda". This has also got to be good news for arms dealers.

No doubt, I like nice things too and have my selection of vainness in my closet (diamond Gucci watch, LV messenger bag/wallets/etc) but when it comes to clothes, sure I'll spend $100 on a nice collared shirt or nice jeans or something, but $250 is just too far for me personally--shirts DO wear out for me after only a year or two. Sure they look good and still feel fine--until you buy a new one and have a fresh snug one to compare it to--then the old one just feels like junky crap that has lost its form over the last year or two, at least for me. Don't get me wrong, I don't buy/can't stand crappy cheap clothes, all my stuff is upper-end, but there's a personal limit where the value just isn't there for the money on short term clothes--I switch stuff out every couple years as styles/tastes change anyway.

Hey bruv, I completely get what you're saying and I no way doubt your usage/taste; its just what works for me- as you say, you may switch looks while I've looked the same for years so yeah cost/value will be as different as taste. So this is a headline article based on a diagnosis and opinion of an Apple Genius Bar technician? In additoin, it is coming from a reader on Gizmodo. It may or may not be true that 20-30% dropped call is expected for those areas, but why headline this article when it is merely coming from the voice of an Apple store representative? It is very deceptive and may trick people into believing that this is a factual statement coming from AT&T themselves. Too many people on the internet always believe what they read from any source and that is why the legitimate journalist are p o'd about the future of journalism and reportings.

I think you are all wrong. On the BMW model names "ix" stands for a fuel injection engine and four-wheel drive. I believe there is an OS M coming for certain BMW models.

It really doesn't make sense to me that Apple is changing the time frame of when the iPhone 5 will be released!
If anything they might release the product in September but they HAVE to announce it at WWDC just for a simple little reason: THE IPHONE IS APPLE'S BIGGEST SELLING PRODUCT AND WWDC IS APPLE'S LARGEST EVENT!
How would they not announce it then?

See above, MagnusVonMagnum. I listed four very good reasons why enabling Flash in iOS Safari would be a terrible choice. If you wish your argument to be convincing, you need to address those four specific reasons.
I don't need to do squat guy. WTF do I care about your reasons for wanting to take away my choice to use Flash? I don't. It's not about "propping up" flash, it's about being able to access TODAY'S Internet, not hoping some day that we won't need Flash. Some of us don't hate Flash like you do. We just want to use the Internet unfettered by Steve Jobs playing the part of a Communist Dictator. The only reasons I see from you are excuses to praise Steve. If we had a choice, you could simply disable Flash and have what you already have yet the rest of us could then access the web without having to pay for 3rd party oddball solutions to watch a simple flash video (which does NOTHING to make other Flash functions work, BTW, leaving many sites useless even so. Whether those sites should depend on Flash is irrelevant to some degree since if you want to view and cannot simply due to Steve being a control freak and stubborn man, tough squat).
There are over 120M iOS devices in the world. Those owners have extremely attractive demographics for websites. If website owners haven't begun converting their content off of a proprietary wrapper, they just don't care.

Want a new battery? Sorry, but we've removed all our battery compartments, but we'll gladly replace your battery for you if you pay us $100+ and mail it to us and do without your device for several days just so we can get more money out of you rather than let you simply buy a battery and remove a simple cover and change it yourself. And THAT is precisely why I can't stand Steve Jobs' attitude towards Apple's customers. He wants to push his warped agendas and ring every last cent out of you no matter how inconvenient it might be to you. He wants to force the destruction of flash by denying his customers access to a large percentage of the world's web sites all the time while lying about iOS devices being able to access the 'real' or 'full' Internet. I wonder what the point of this connection is...seriously. I don't connect 20 HDD's at a time in RAID 0. The only use I could see for Thunderbolt over USB3 is when I am trying to use the same connection for a few 30" displays in CONJUNCTION with SSD's in RAID 0....
I just can't see anything using this type of bandwidth...not at least until SSD's completely dominate the storage market.
